Craftworks Mayo, an exciting new bespoke craft network, are officially launching their project with a Winter Craft Expo and showcase in the Wyatt Hotel, Octagon, Westport, this Friday, November 16 from 5pm to 9pm and on Saturday, November 17 from 10am to 6pm. Together the network employs over 30 people and will be expanding in the coming month by adding up to 20 new member businesses.
Craftworks Mayo aims to promote all that is truly remarkable in Mayo talent, design and craft manufacture; giving locals and visitors the opportunity to witness how each craft worker skilfully creates each craft piece with love and care whilst at the same time, learning more about their products, including an amazing display of handmade jewellery, ceramics, glassware, felt, textiles, furniture, boats, surfboards, photography, prints and corporate gift ideas; all with the distinction of being unique and from County Mayo.
Through their relentless and innovative spirit, the craftworkers of County Mayo have timed this Mayo Winter Craft Expo showcase to capture the imagination of loyal consumers wishing to support local enterprise, express their own personal style, bag a bespoke bargain and avail of sensational, handmade, iconic gifts in the run up to Christmas.
Celebrating the spirit of individuals who are crafting their way to success, Craftworks Mayo will proudly showcase the real deal in terms of made in Mayo gifts capturing some of the most talented, vibrant designers with their exclusive, exciting array of the highest quality craft products from all 28 members.
Paying homage to local talent, Westport based chairman Roger Harley says: “Craftworks Mayo is a fantastic opportunity for those of us who make a living from our craft. Our main aim is to promote our work both locally and nationally. Working together as a group means we are building a stronger identity around the county and within the county itself. We have the brilliant support of the funding agencies in Mayo who are assisting us through training and network support. This is a network with big plans.”
