‘Positive steps’ as Ballyhaunis hurler bids for recovery

BALLYHAUNIS senior hurler Christy McCrudden remains in the Beaumont Hospital in Dublin where he continues to receive treatment and medical attention for injuries received in a serious fall at his residence some hours after Ballyhaunis retained their county title.
As Ballyhaunis prepare for their Connacht semi-final clash with Four Roads of Roscommon in Athleague next Monday (Bank Holiday), the thoughts and good wishes of all Christy’s colleagues are with him as he enters the next phase of his recovery.
Team manager JP Coen says the medical team is now in the process of weaning him out of the coma. “Christy is slowly waking up. While he has not spoken he is responding to voices. These are small but positive steps. This week should hopefully see further progress. The whole community is behind Christy in his battle to return to full health.”
