Quay Cottage restaurant re-opens this weekend

THE much loved Quay Cottage restaurant is re-opening today, Tuesday, March 27 under the guidance of the original proprietor, Kirstin McDonagh. Just the way it should be.
“I’m absolutely delighted to be announcing that the Quay Cottage is re-opening”, said Kirstin McDonagh, “We have a fantastic team in place and it’s going to be just like the old days – except for the phone number which is now 098 50692”.
The team Kirstin refers to includes the familiar face of Manager Pascale Soual who is well known around Westport and previously managed the Quay Cottage in the ‘old days’. Pascale is from the South West of France and has many years restaurant management experience in France, Australia and, closer to home, at Temptations Restaurant in the Mill Times Hotel.
The Head Chef is  Michel Nagy who brings a Parisian flair to his dishes, with seafood as an unsurprising specialty. Michel has worked in Switzerland, Australia, America and most recently in Belfast as Head Chef with the Bastille Restaurant.
The menu will contain some familiar favourites plus some new exciting dishes, all taking advantage of the freshest of local produce. Unsurprisingly, given the harbour front location, seafood will feature strongly on the Quay Cottage menu. The famous Quay Cottage homemade breads will make a welcome reappearance and the mouth-watering selection of desserts is made in house as well. An exciting new wine list has been carefully chosen to accompany Michel’s food.
The Quay Cottage is located just at the Quay entrance gates to Westport House.
