Flights to and from Ireland West Airport Knock are predicted to run to schedule after snowy conditions in the UK forced the delay and cancellation of some flights over the weekend.
All of yesterday’s (Monday) flights at Knock airport ran to schedule after a number of Sunday flights were affected by the inclement weather in the UK. On Sunday afternoon, the Ryanair flight to and from London Stansted was cancelled and flights for Manchester, Luton, East Midlands and Gatwick were all delayed.
Passengers who intended to fly into Stansted either rebooked on the next available flight or were accommodated on the Luton flight. More than 16cm of snow fell in England over the weekend with heavy snow disrupting flights and travel over the weekend.
However, the worst of the travel disruptions seem to be over after all the flights arrived and departed the airport on schedule on Monday, Donal Healy, the Marketing Manager of IWAK told The Mayo News.
