Taoiseach opens Ballina Primary Care Centre

An Taoiseach Enda Kenny was yesterday (Monday) on hand to officially open a new Ballina Primary Care Centre, based in Kevin Barry Street, Ballina, which is the first of its kind in County Mayo.
The Centre has been developed by Dr Tom and Dr Seán Moffatt in partnership with the HSE, as part of the HSE’s national strategy to develop purpose built Primary Care Centres to the wider community. The objective of the centre will be to deliver comprehensive primary care services to local communities in the area.
Commenting at the official opening of the Primary Care Centre, the Taoiseach said, “The Government agenda is to place emphasis on Primary Care and this centre is part of the HSE development programme. I wish the multi-disciplinary team here every success for the future”.
Dr Tom Moffatt said the centre will offer patients and all doctors in the region access to enhanced community health services and hopefully chronic disease management in the future. All of the HSE services based at this Centre are available to all of the population of Ballina including those attending other GP Practices in Ballina.
