Mulranny native Enda Mulloy launched his second single last Friday and already it is proving very popular.
‘The Bridge Out of Your Heart’ has charted in the top ten in the UK over the weekend, alongside such luminaries as George Ezra and Sam Fender.
It comes hot on the heels of Mulloy’s 2021 chart-topper ‘Batten the Hatches Down’.
A son of the late Tom Mulloy of Mulloy Brothers fame, Enda was reared in music circles and played with the famous family band from the age of 14.
Based in London, he has went onto perform with music royalty such as Sting and Elvis Costello.
He plays with London-based band BibleCode Sundays but Covid-19 lockdowns presented him with the time and opportunities to work on some of his own music.
“When we couldn’t play live due to lockdown I decided to spend some time writing a few songs. It was crazy. Around three albums worth of songs came pouring out! But the best of
them were all about the huge heart lift you get from playing live,” he said.
“Walking into the studio with producer and friend Michael Smith (Wolf Alice, BibleCode Sundays and Spencer Davies Group) at RYP Recordings London, I got my head into writing and recording all this material, spending a long time creating something I felt liberated andmoved away from what I had written previously,” he said.
He describes The Bridge Out Of Your Heart as ‘a brooding indie anthem with soaring vocals, jangly guitar telling a tale of love gone wrong’.
It’s available on all platforms.
