Bury Me With My Money to release third single this week

Staying In

MAYO’S FINEST Alternative Rock band ‘Bury Me With My Money’.

Mayo has a very healthy country music scene, it has a world-renowned traditional music scene and it has a flourishing folk scene as of recent years, but now there’s a new scene brewing … Alternative Rock!
Indie label Umbrella Records was founded in 2018 and is stationed on the Mayo/Galway border near Claremorris. So far they have released music from artists like Bannered Mare, Oscar Mild, Derek Ellard amd The Future Business Model, and next week, on August 18, they will release the third single from the band Bury Me With My Money.
The track is called Okay and is an unusual mix of acoustic guitars, elaborate synthesisers, intricate percussion and layer upon layer of vocal harmonies. Singer, Tomás Concannon writes about his conflicting relationship with religious traditions and how being exposed to multiple religious practices as a child ultimately left him conflicted and confused. The message is that it’s Okay to find your own spiritual path in the world and that an antiquated structure can often prevent us from doing that.
Bury Me With My Money are proud to say that what they do is 100 percent produced in Mayo, by artists from Mayo. This is reflected in every aspect of what they do and the release of Okay is no different. The video was directed by Westport native and Royal Television Society award winner, Frank O’Malley. It was shot in Liscarney Community Hall, outside Westport, using a fully local crew. Tomás says: “It is integral to us as a band to produce music that has global appeal and to do something interesting and different musically, but we also want to represent the part of the world we come from, so we try our best to utilise the talent and amenities we have available to us in Mayo and that actually helps us to stand out from the crowd a bit more.”

The video for Okay can be found on YouTube and all music is available on Spotify and iTunes. You can follow Bury Me With My Money on Instagram and Facebook. The band play Róisín Dubh in Galway on September 13 and tickets are available at the door.
