Mutt of the Month December — Gypsy
Pleased to meet you all. My name is Gypsy and I am a Jack Russell Terrier lady. I am, ahem, a lady of a certain age – maybe about five or six, but who is counting? Certainly not me and when the mood takes me, I can be as feisty and energetic as any of the young ones around here. I walk with a very spirited prancing gait, as much as to say, “Yes, there is a lot of life left in the, not so old, dog yet.”
I love human contact and totally bliss out when having the back of my ears scratched; pure joy. I can be a little short with some of the dogs at times, but really who can blame me? I do find the manners of the younger generation to be a touch lacking at times. A reminder to respect their elders can sometimes be necessary.
I think of myself as a bit bit of a Dowager Countess, a Lady Grantham of the MADRA kennels, if you will. As such, the accommodations here leave a little to be desired for one such as myself. If you feel you have the necessary breeding and social standing to match my own, perhaps we should get together. I would be more than happy to live out my years with one such as yourself.
Gypsy is just one of many Mayo and Galway rescue dogs at Connemara-based Mutts Anonymous Dog Rescue and Adoption (MADRA) looking for a loving home. All dogs will be neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Please see www.madra.ie, visit MADRA’s Facebook page or call or text Marina on 086 8149026.
