Liam Ó Maonlaí, Laoise Kelly and more for Halloween shenanigans

Aughagower is hosting a night of free and fun Halloween events this Bank Holiday Monday, October 31, from 6pm till late.
Earlier in the evening there will be a ‘haunted house’ experience at the Community Centre (5pm - 6pm, a separate paid event organised by Aughagower Community Council) and Branwen’s Caravan Musical Tarot Fortunes. The little ones of of Aughagower Community Afterschool will also enjoy Halloween puppet making with Carmel Balfe of Little Gem Puppets, as well as mask and lantern painting with Foróige – all funded by Local Live Performance Programming Scheme.
Afterwards there will be a ‘Shine Light’ parade for young and old around the village from 6pm to 7pm, with a voluntary collection for Focus Ireland, supporting the homeless.
The night continues indoors down at Westport Country Lodge Hotel from 7.30pm till late with a ‘Cabaret Na Rialta’ or ‘Cosmic Cabaret’ (free, but limited space – book early on Eventbrite (search for ‘Cabaret Na Rialta’). Costumes and masks are essential, with a prize up for grabs for the most creative costume.
The night’s musical offerings will include Larry Beau & Friends; Irish trad, folk and soul with Laoise Kelly and Liam Ó Maonlaí; visual art and music with Breda Mayock and African Voices; rock, jazz and funk with Sky Atlas; and comedy and music with drag artistes Candy Warhol and Marian Mary.
