‘Intricate Weaves’ on show in Claremorris

Going Out

An exhibition by Claremorris Visual Arts Community (CVAC) will take place in Claremorris Townhall Theatre Gallery. The official opening will be on Friday next, September 10 from 7pm to 9pm, and will be performed by Mr John Kirrane.
CVAC members Ann Warde, Anna O Dixon, Christine Lynn, Marie Kenna and Norah Brennan have been working on the theme of ‘Intricate Weaves’ since 2019. The exhibition was completed in 2020 but Covid restrictions and lockdowns prevented it showing until now. After a two month stay at the Tuar Árd Art Centre in Moate, the group are delighted to bring it home to Claremorris to be seen by the local community before it travels to Áras Gluaire, Belmullett in 2022.
Each member of the collective works independently and brings their own interpretation of the theme to this exhibition. Printmaking, mosaic, painting, drawing and textile feature in the show. The exhibition will be open free of charge to the public on Friday, September 10 and Saturday, September 11 from 10am to 4pm and on Sunday, September 12 from 12 noon to 4pm. Members of CVAC will be present over the weekend to talk about the work.
