Local Honeys return to Westport

Going Out

MAYO BOUND The Local Honeys’s previous Mayo performances have gone down a storm.

The Local Honeys will perform in Matt Molloy’s Yard Bar, Westport, on Wednesday, February 5, at 8pm.
The Kentucky duo were first introduced to Mayo audiences when they played three dates in the county during February 2019. The huge response from the crowd earned them a place on the 13th Westport Folk and Bluegrass Festival last June, where they played to appreciative crowds at the main old-time concert and the festival’s Gospel Session at Holy Trinity Church.
The Local Honeys’ Linda Jean Stokley comes from the rolling hills of the Bluegrass region in Kentucky, while her singing partner, Montana Hobbs, hails from the foothills of the Appalachians Mountains. Both women have dedicated themselves to the preservation of old music and the creation of new sounds.
The Matt Molloy’s gig is part of a short Irish tour, and it will be the only concert the duo will perform in the west.

Tickets, €10 each, will be available on the door.
