SEASONAL SHOW UK-based theatre company Lyngo Theatre is bringing a little Christmas magic to Westport Town Hall Theatre.

For the first time, Westport Town Hall Theatre will welcome award-winning UK-based theatre company Lyngo Theatre to their stage for two special seasonal shows for children and families on Sunday, December 8, at 2pm and 4pm.
Lyngo’s magical new musical show, ‘Heart of Winter’, warmly celebrates family, friendship and the good fortune of finding the winter we really need and want … with the precious festive offering of lots of fluffy snow.
Lyngo’s artistic director, Patrick Lynch, has specialised in children’s theatre since 2003, after a wide-ranging career in theatre, television, film and academia. He studied psychology at Glasgow University and then dramatherapy and worked for many years with special-needs groups. He has worked extensively in Europe in theatre-forms like Commedia dell’Arte and clowning. In the UK, he has acted and directed for companies like Oily Cart and been a workshop and project leader for many organisations. Since 2006 he has been presenting television programmes for the BBC on their CBeebies channel.
Having visited Westport last spring, Lynch was impressed with the Town Hall Theatre’s facilities and overall programming objectives, and he shortlisted the venue in his Irish tour for winter 2019. “Westport is very lucky to have such a vibrant community-focused arts centre in the heart of the town,” he said. “I think ‘Heart of Winter’ will leave the Westport audience with an imaginative and significant take on what live family theatre shows can really do.”

Tickets (€8 each or €28 for a family of four) are available at the Westport Town Hall Theatre box office 098 28459 or online at www.westporttheatre.com.
