Ballina hosts inclusive Halloween disco

Going Out

Ciara Moynihan

A FANCY-dress Halloween party and spooky disco for adults with intellectual disabilities will take place this Friday, October 25, from 8pm to 10.30pm in the Cot & Cobble, Ballina.
A series of arts and crafts, dance and DJing workshops have been taking place over the four weeks leading up to the event. With DJ Ryan Cawley teaching willing learners how to spin the discs, his students are now well able to hold their own on the decks.
On the night, the nightclub will be transformed into a Halloween haven, while the DJs will each be taking turns playing music throughout the night and the dancers will be choreographing Thriller moves.
This is a ticket-only event, due to demand and to avoid disappointment on the night. Tickets cost €10, while carers and family go free. Proceeds from the event will go to inclusive community projects (accounts viewable on request to local services).
For more information, email, or call Pádraig on 086 2698068. This is the second Intellectual Disability Disco and Workshop series that has been run in Ballina by Pádraig and DJ Ryan.
