Country Music September 18
A COUNTRY music function will take place in the McWilliam Park Hotel, Claremorris next Tuesday, September 18. Admission is €20 and there will be a raffle for jerseys “and possibly All-Ireland tickets”, Chairman Paddy McNicholas told last Friday’s meeting of Mayo GAA Board.
The concert will feature some of Ireland’s leading country stars like Declan Nerney, John McNichol, Gerry Guthrie, Lisa McHugh, Seán Loughrey, Johnny Brady, James Kilbane and Michael Regan.
Doors open at 7pm and the show starts at 8pm. Admission is €20 and the compere for the night is Michael Commins of The Mayo News.

Corporate Night September 20
A CORPORATE Night will take place in the Welcome Inn Hotel, Castlebar on Thursday, September 20. The event is a way for Mayo GAA Board to “look after” companies “who gave us advertising”, according to Vice-Chairman Mike Connelly, and is sold out.

Pre-match Function September 22
A FUNCTION will take place in the Regency Hotel, Dublin on the night before the All-Ireland final. There will be music and Midwest Radio will be in attendance. Admission is €20 and the event represents a chance for all Mayo people who are in Dublin for the weekend to meet up, according to Paddy McNicholas.

Sunday brunch September 23
A SUNDAY brunch is planned for 11am on the morning of the All-Ireland final at a Dublin venue to be confirmed.

Post-match Banquet September 23
THE post-match Banquet will be held in the Regency Hotel, Dublin and is limited to 1,000 places for the meal and 1,000 people afterwards. There will be no tickets on sale to the general public for the banquet.
Mayo GAA Secretary Kevin O’Toole said that “just over half” the tickets will go to players and their families, who “have to [be] prioritise[d]”. Every club will be represented by their County Board delegate, who will be entitled to two tickets. Fifty tickets have been set aside for sponsors, while the County Board Executive will also be represented.
“We hope that clubs will get ten tickets each for the ‘afters’,” O’Toole last Friday’s meeting of Mayo GAA Board. He asked all clubs to confirm who their County Board delegate is.

Get the Friday feeling at your workplace for Red & Green fun day September 14

MAYO natives in workplaces and companies all across the county are being asked to wear their county colours on Friday next in support of the Mayo team training fund.
Mayo manager James Horan, the Mayo GAA Board and Cáirde Mhaigheo have called on Mayo fans to support a ‘Red and Green Fun Day’ at the end of this week.
Staff are being asked to contribute €5 per person to the Mayo cause by being “imaginative in creating and putting together their own Red and Green costume and wearing it to work on Friday,” said a Mayo GAA spokesperson.
All workplaces who participate in the ‘Red & Green Fun Day’ will then be entered in a draw for the following prizes: 1, two stand tickets to the All-Ireland Football Final; 2, two Hill 16 tickets for the All-Ireland Football Final.
Plus, there will be five Mayo jerseys to be won for the best photograph that captures the ‘Spirit of the  Red and Green Fun Day’ at their workplace. These pictures, which can be of indivduals or groups, should be submitted by e-mail to secretary.mayo@gaa.ie no later than 5pm on Friday next, September 14.
If your workplace would like to take part, all you have to do is collect €5 per participant and send a cheque or postal order along with the details of your workplace to John Fahey, c/o Mayo GAA , McHale Park, Castlebar  before Wednesday, September 19. 

Schools asked to tog out for Fun Day Friday September 14
THE Mayo GAA Board have also joined forces with Cumann na mBunscol and invited all schools in the county to take part in a ‘Red & Green Fun Day’ on Friday next, September 14.
Children are being encouraged to wear green and red colours and costumes to school on Friday, and to contribute €2 to the Mayo team training fund.
By doing so, schools, staff and pupils are all in with a chance of winning some amazing prizes. First and second prize in the draw are Family Tickets to the All-Ireland Football Final while third prize is a full set of Mayo or school jerseys for the school which submits the photograph which best captures the ‘Spirit of the Red and Green Fun Day’ at their school.
All photos should be submitted by e-mail to secretary.mayo@gaa.ie before 7pm on Friday, September 14.
Plus, every school which takes part in the Fun Day will be entered in a separate draw for two All-Ireland Final stand tickets. These tickets are exclusively for the staff of the winning school.
All schools who are taking part should send a cheque/postal order, along with a school detail sheet to: Peter Carney, Carrowholly NS, Westport before Wednesday, September 19.
Only schools who have forwarded cheques by this date will be included in the draws.
The draws will take place on Wednesday, September 19 and all prizes will be sent to the principals of the winning schools. The winners will be announced on Mid West Radio on Thursday, September 20.

Fans to flock to Open Evening September 14

MAYO supporters are expected to turn out in big numbers to McHale Park, Castlebar on Friday evening next, September 14, for the Mayo senior squad’s ‘Open Evening’ ahead of the All-Ireland Final.
Fans are being invited to come along between 6.30pm and 7.30pm to meet the Mayo players and management, and get their autographs, have jerseys signed, and get their faces painted.
Souvenir posters of the Mayo squad will also be available to purchase on the evening.
This open evening will only last for one hour as the team will have an official training session at 7.30pm.

Big night planned in London town September 16

THE Cáirde Mhaigheo Supporters’ Club in London are holding a fund-raising Race Night on Sunday next, September 16 at the Oxford Arms, 265 Camden High Street, Camden Town in London.
The evening gets underway from 6.30pm with music by Slim Attraction and Fidelma Meenaghan. Mayo fans are asked to wear their colours on the night and there will be a chance to win All-Ireland Football Final tickets.
