Want to make some money at Cheltenham?

Pat Henry

IT’S hard to envisage too many upsets on day one of the festival. I think an each-way double on Jury Duty in the National Hunt Chase and Barney Dwan in the Close Brothers Chase looks good value. They both finished in the places in last year’s Pertemps Hurdle at the festival and have adapted very well to the larger fences this season.
Selection: Jury Duty and Barney Dwan (Each Way Double 55/1)

RSA Chase
DOUNIKOS looks like a real smart stayer and his recent performance in the Flogas Chase was highly promising.
Selection: Dounikos 12/1

Coral Cup
RED Indian and William Henry have shown a good level of form in top handicaps this season. They both may benefit from the competitive nature of a race like this and could run tidy races.
Selections: Red Indian 20/1 and William Henry 16/1

Fred Winter Hurdle
PAUL Nicholls has a cracking record in this and his filly Malaya looks like she can be competitive following her recent second in the Adonis Hurdle. Mitchouka has been mixing it in competitive races all season and looks suited to a race of this nature.
Selection: Mitchouka 10/1 and Grand Sancy 14/1

Pertemps Hurdle
THOMAS Campbell has fallen short in top company this year but the switch back to this handicap should suit. He boasts plenty of course form and should have no problem with the trip.
Selection: Thomas Campbell 16/1

Brown Advisory Handicap Chase
LIZ Doyle’s Last Goodbye was very badly hampered at last year’s festival when looking like he could hit the frame. He has held his form well this season and looks sure to go well.
Selection: Last Goodbye 12/1

Kim Muir Challenge Cup Chase
PENDRA was desperately unlucky not to win this race last year when just touched off by the shortest of margins. He has good course form and has been kept fresh for this.
Selection: Pendra 11/1

BOTH Wonderful Charm in the Foxhunters Chase and Flawless Escape in the Martin Pipe Hurdle look sure to go very close in their respective races and a 50/1 each-way double looks tempting!
Selection: Wonderful Charm and Flawless Escape (Each Way Double 50/1)

Albert Bartlett Hurdle
FABULOUS Saga has plenty of experience and is proven over the trip which is essential in a race of this nature. Willie Mullins has adapted a very similar preparation with him as last year’s winner Penhill.
Selection: Fabulous Saga 20/1

Grand Annual Chase
BUN Doran sneaks into this race under the radar. Tom George has always held him in high regard and will have him fresh for a bold show.
Selection: Bun Doran 20/1
