FUNDS Mary Mulryan of Enable Ireland, Mayo Services.
MAYO and Galway fans attending next Sunday’s FBD Connacht League match at MacHale Park in Castlebar (2pm) are asked to please support a bucket collection in aid of Enable Ireland, Mayo Services.
Enable Ireland — whose Mayo Services are based in Castlebar — are the charity partner for the upcoming Mayo News/O’Neill Club Stars awards on Friday, January 19.
As a result, all the monies raised by next Sunday’s bucket collection outside MacHale Park before the match will be donated to the local Enable Ireland service, along with all the funds raised from the Club Stars banquet later this month.
Mary Mulryan, fundraising manager of Enable Ireland, Mayo Services said: “We’d ask everybody attending the match in Castlebar on Sunday to give what they can to support our fundraiser.
“We’re trying to raise funds at the moment for a new electrical vanette with assistive technology that would be used to cover service users across the region.
“Buying a vanette would mean that the service could visit people’s homes and that we would have the equipment on board that could carry out assessments.
“People in Mayo have always been very supportive over the years, and I have no doubt they will support us again on Sunday.”
Nationally, Enable Ireland provides services to over 5,000 children and adults with physical, sensory and intellectual disabilities in 14 counties across Ireland. Covering childhood to adulthood, their expert teams work with the individual and their family on a plan for each life stage.
