Molly Lavelle

Obituaries
Carne, Belmullet
Molly Lavelle, Carne, Belmullet. There was widespread sadness at the recent passing of Molly Lavelle (nee Barrett), Carne, Belmullet in her 94th year. Molly passed away peacefully on August 18 at the Dalton Nursing Home, Claremorris surrounded by her family.
Molly was a kind and caring wife, mother and neighbour. Predeceased by her husband Tony, who died in October 1991, together they built up the family farm in Carne. She loved nature and was full of nature; her home was always a place of welcome, her table always full and plenty.
Molly was deeply religious; she lived out her faith each day by her kind deeds, her hard work and her care for others.
The huge crowds that turned out to pay their respects at her removal and funeral was a fitting testament to a long life well lived. In his homily, Fr Harrison spoke of Molly’s hospitality, her home baking, her kindness and devotion to her family and to God. Molly was laid to rest in brilliant sunshine in her beloved Emlybeg, overlooking Blacksod Bay.
She is survived by her daughters, Mary Joe (Balla), Breda (Castlebar), Martina (Cork), Olive (Manchester); sons, Paddy (Wales), Joe (Manchester), Martin (Dublin), Peter (Family home); son-in-law and daughters-in-law; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and a wide circle of relatives and friends.
May God rest her kind and gentle soul.
