Séamus Moran died peacefully at his home in Carnaclay surrounded by his family on February 7, 2019.
Séamus was born on May 22, 1939 in Carnaclay to James and Mary Moran, he was one of a family of nine. He attended the Christian Brothers’ School while also helping out on the family farm. When he was 18 he decided he would emigrate to London where he worked in various jobs before returning home to take care of his parents.
In 1974 Séamus married his beloved wife Teresa, The couple went on to have two children, son James and daughter Cathy, Séamus was a family man who enjoyed his home life as well as socialising.
Séamus worked in Telecom Eireann Exchange in Castlebar for 29 years as well as running a small farm.
After retiring from work Séamus took a great interest in his garden which he found to be great therapy for his parkinson’s. Séamus also attended MacBride Day Care Centre in which he enjoyed taking part in all the activities.
Séamus will be deeply mourned by his loving wife Teresa, son James, daughter Cathy, daughter-in-law Michelle, son-in-law Paul, granddaughter Emma, sisters Mary (Dublin), Ann (Dundalk), Nuala (Galway), Dolly (Newcastle), Rose (Westport), brothers Mick and Tony (London); nieces, nephews, relatives and a large circle of friends.
