There was utter shock and sadness in Kilbride on Sunday night February 10 when James passed away suddenly.
James was from a family of four, two sisters and one brother, born to James and Charlotte Ryder. James had a love for sport and growing up he could be found playing tug of war. James was an avid Mayo supporter and was often seen in McHale Park, shouting on his county men.
Leaving school at an early age James found his love of farming, first with dairy and later through mountain blackface sheep. He could be seen all over Connacht collecting his red rosettes for his prize winning sheep.
James was a proud, hard working man and had worked with Bus Eireann for nearly forty years. You were always guaranteed a wave when you were passed by James. James had a love for traditional music and could be found listening to it on his bus much to the delight of his students. James married the love of his life Mary Nolan from Buckagh, Newport in 1982. They were blessed with three children , Loraine, Donna and Padraic. James was a proud family man. He would always be found visiting family cousins, neighbors and friends or in contact with relatives further a field.
James had an army of friends, his wonderful neighbours all over Kilbride to his sheep friends in Sligo, Galway and further. The stories we have been told over the past few weeks, have been nothing short of joy. James was a popular man and this was plain to see with both young and old that came in their thousands to pay their last respects.
James was predeceased by his parents James and Charlotte and his brother Peter. He is dearly loved and will be immensely missed by his wife Mary, his children Loraine, Donna and Padraic, his sisters Charlotte Moran and Margaret Horan (Claremorris). His brothers-in-law Richard Horan and Gerry Moran, Gerard Nolan, John Nolan, Enda Nolan and Tom Nolan; Michael and Margaret Ryder, Sister-in-law Nora Nolan, Bernie and Margaret Ryder . His nephews Kevin Moran, Jimmy and Gavin Horan, Michael, Aaron, Cian, Fiachra and Caoimhignh Nolan, his nieces Teresa Moran, Elaine and Emma Ryder and Edel Nolan.
May his soul rest in peace.
