Sheila (Julia) Moran

Moynish House, Mulranny

Sheila Moran (née Butler) passed away peacefully on July 14th in her home in Mulranny.
Sheila was born on September 29, 1933 to Julia and Michael Butler, Deerpark, Ballymacarbry, Co Waterford. Sheila was the third youngest of eight children. She was predeceased by her husband Ciaran in 2012. She attended school in Fourmile Water and Loreto in Clonmel after which she went to Newry and Cathal Brugha Street for Catering and Hospitality. She joined CIE and arrived in Mulranny to work in the Great Southern Hotel in 1954.
It was here she met her husband to be Ciaran and they got married in January 1963. They worked together for the rest of their lives in Moynish House where she catered for numerous customers. Many great friendships were formed over 50-plus years in business.
Sheila liked to play cards and golf, but most of all it was camaraderie and fun with friends she enjoyed most.
Sheila always kept great contact with all her family and had daily conversations with her brother Jimmy. She kept up-to-date with all the news in her home parish from these chats. In the last few years, ill-health restricted her a little from her visiting down south, but she loved to see and welcome visitors even up to the last few days before her death.
Rest in peace Mum.
