The death took place of Michael Chambers, Derrygorman, Westport on May 27, surrounded by his family.
Michael was born on December 4, 1942 in Lappallagh, Glenisland, son of John and Tess Chambers. Born into a farming background Michael could be found at marts and fairs throughout the county and country from a very young age.
As a child Michael moved to the Newport Road, Westport where he lived for over 50 years.
Michael was an avid member of Fianna Fáil and all through his life he loved nothing better that a great political discussion with his many friends throughout the county and indeed the country.
Michael took ill three years ago and bravely fought through the adversity of his illness. At the time of his death he was surrounded by his sons and daughters and by his beloved wife Ann with whom he was married for over 50 years.
Michael was predeceased by his father John and mother Tess. He is survived and very sadly missed by his wife Ann, sons John, Michael and Kenneth, daughters Moirin and Sandra, grandchildren, brother Joe, sister Anna, son-in-law and daughter-in-law, nieces, nephews, all relatives and many, many friends.
Michael was laid to rest in Myna Cemetery. May his gentle should rest in peace.
