Newtown, Castlebar and formerly Newport
It is with deep sorrow we the family of dearly loved Jimmy record his death which occurred on October 21, unexpectedly. He was a much loved husband, father and grandfather, who expressed unconditional love for his family up to his untimely passing.
Jimmy was a very positive man with a love for life. He loved Gaelic football and soccer. Throughout his life since the children were small he loved to sit in the kitchen playing card games and he never turned down an offer to play pool on the table he bought many years ago. He had great faith and would often state, ‘every day God sends is a good one’.
On return visits from abroad Jimmy would maintain ‘the west has the most beautiful scenery of all’. He was gentle, kind, considerate, warm, honest, and always good humoured. With a heavy heart we say fare well and thank you Jimmy- the family man, loving husband, proud father, doting grandad, much loved brother, uncle, and father in law. The loving memories will live on in our hearts and minds forever.
Always remembered by his wife Margaret; children Maureen, Padraig, Margaret, James, Monica, Kevin, and Sean; grandchildren Anna, Kate, Brian, Grace, Óran, and Fionn; his dear sisters Ann, Liverpool, Mary, Australia; his sons in-law Dominic and Kevin; daughters in-law, Marie and Karina; and his many nephews, nieces, relations, friends and neighbours. He was laid to rest in Castlebar new cemetery. May his gentle soul rest in peace.
