Tony will be sadly missed by his sorrowing parents Tony and Katie, his brother Kevin, sister-in-law Claire, his two nieces and nephew, his partner Josephine, uncles, aunts, cousins, work colleagues and many friends.
The eulogy at the Funeral Mass was given by his cousin Katie Moran on behalf of the O’Malley family and Tony’s partner, Jo, which gave a brief summary of Tony’s short life as follows:

Eulogy for Tony O’Malley
Tony was born in 1977 in Princess Alexander Hospital in Harlow Essex. This made Tony an Original Essex Boy. From when Tony was young he was a happy-go-lucky lad. He was happier at home than he was at school which was why he spent most of his schooldays at home.
He played football for Derrywash National School and he was also very fond of snooker. In fact, he met most of the famous snooker players at various tournaments and recently he has the opportunity to meet his idol, Ronnie O’Sullivan.
Tony was very fortunate to meet Seán Joyce, who gave him a job driving the tractor for the Council in Castlebar. He absolutely loved his job working with Seán and all the Council lads.
Tony had a great zest for life and he packed more into his 39 years than most in double that time.
On behalf of the family, we would like to thank the staff in the Mater hospital who fought and fought and then fought again to try to save Tony. We would also like to thank the Palliative Care team who were fantastic.
Finally, the family would like to thank you, family, friends, work colleagues and neighbors for all your support over the past year.
