Jedward draw the crowds at Inver NS

IRELAND’S most famous twins, Jedward, took time from their sold-out nationwide tour to travel to north Mayo to perform the raising of Inver National School’s first Green Flag.
The X-Factor stars arrived in north Mayo to screaming crowds of young children and a few older fans to raise the Green Flag and encourage the pupils to keep recycling. Jedward stayed for close to two hours signing autographs and posing for photographs with all the pupils and also listened to the school band play.
Maureen Glynn, the Principal of Inver National School told The Mayo News that Jedward were very patient and accommodating with all the children, who she said were delighted that they came. The school received their first Green Flag last March and Jedward were the unanimous choice among the children to perform the opening.
“We rang Aitken Promotions and they gave us an e-mail and the children wrote a persuasive e-mail to Jedward inviting them,” explained Maureen. “We didn’t hear anything and had given up hope until last Wednesday when we got a call to say they will raise the flag on Friday. There was much excitement among the children who were delighted to see them as were quite a few adults who had gathered at the school to see them.
We were delighted with them and they were great with the kids signing autographs and taking photographs. They were really nice.”
After spending close to two hours in Inver, the Grimes twins were whisked away to Castlebar to perform their second sold-out concert in Mayo.
