GARDAÍ in Clifden are investigating a fatal road traffic collision that occurred at approximately 12 midday yesterday (Monday) at Lettergesh East, Tullycross, Renvyle.
Two males, believed to be French tourists, one in his late forties and one in his sixties, were fatally injured when the silver Ford Mondeo car they were travelling in slid down an embankment and overturned.
Two female passangers were brought to University College Hospital Galway for treatment. Their injuries are described as not life-threatening. This accident occurred on the beach road connecting the Lettergesh/Leenane Road to the beach.
Fire service personnel and a fleet of ambulances rushed to the scene and helped remove the injured passengers to hospital in Galway.
