A brand new Mayo music event, to be held later this month, is being dubbed the ‘Oxegen of the west’.
Keep Music Live (KML), to be held on June 28 next at Julian’s, Midfield, aims to bring together musicians and music fans alike from all over the country.
Showcasing original bands from the localities of Swinford, Ballina, Kiltimagh and Galway, the night also features an open mic section.
Music fans are asked to bring their tent to pitch for the night, which promises to be a low-cost, high-quality event with integral rock and roll sentiments.
Organiser Philip Cassidy of band 21 Outs said the night is going to be one to remember and has high hopes that the event will become an annual affair.
A bus will leave Eyre Square, Galway at 5.15pm on Saturday, June 28, and tickets will include Galway-Midfield return bus and admission into the gig. Camping will also be available.
Bands can also get involved in the event by sending details to kml.events@gmail.com.
