Westport
THE first new Intercity rail carriages will arrive in Mayo tomorrow (Wednesday) afternoon, departing from Dublin’s Heuston Station at 12.40pm. The lunchtime service will stop at Ballyhaunis, Claremorris, Manulla, Castlebar, before arriving in Westport at 4.21pm.
The news has been warmly welcomed by Fine Gael Deputy John O’Mahony who said that the new service would meet a long-awaited need for the people of Mayo.
