Murrisk man dies in Kildare road accident

A FORTY-eight-year-old father of three, who died in a two-vehicle collision at Blackhill, Kill, Co Kildare, on Friday afternoon, had attended the funeral of his uncle in Kilmeena, Westport, the previous day.
Noel Foy, Rochford Close, Kill, and formerly of Murrisk, Westport, who was killed instantly, was taken to Naas General Hospital after the collision. He leaves a wife, Sandra, and children, Ciara, Deanne and Christopher. He was son of Carmel (Gibbons) and the late Michael Foy, a former editor of The Mayo News. He was brother of Westport/Ballinrobe solicitor, Seán Foy, and Westport-based accountant, Seamus Foy. He is also survived by another brother, Pádraig, Dublin, and a sister, Carmeleen Grady, Murrisk, and also has uncles and many relatives in the Murrisk/Lecanvey/Kilmeena areas.
The day before the accident, Mr Foy had attended the funeral of his uncle, Jim Gibbons, Cushelogurt, Kilmeena, in St Brendan’s Church, Myna.
Removal takes place from Hughes’ Funeral Home in Naas this (Tuesday) evening at 6.30pm to the Church of St Brigid, Kill, where Noel’s Funeral Mass will be celebrated tomorrow (Wednesday) at 12 noon. Burial will take place afterwards in St Corban’s Cemetery, Naas.
