Newport
A woman was taken to Mayo General Hospital from the scene of a three-vehicle collision outside Newport on Sunday. The incident occurred when a car waiting to turn off the road was hit from behind by a car travelling in the same direction. A third car, also travelling in the same direction, then hit into these two cars. Gardaí from Westport and an ambulance attended the scene, which was in the townland of Ardagh, three miles from Newport in the direction of Mulranny. The injuries sustained by the woman were described as not life-threatening.
