SEVEN people, including a toddler were taken to hospital following a two-car collision in Ballindine on Friday evening last.
The collision occurred at Ballindine East on the N17 at 5.40pm when one vehicle swerved to avoid another vehicle and crashed head on into another car.
The impact caused the first car to collide with a wall. A mother and her two-year-old child were in one car, while the other car carried five foreign national students.
Ambulances and fire brigades arrived at the scene and the seven people were removed to Mayo University Hospital. Some obtained serious injuries such as broken bones and back injuries, but none are life threatening.
The road was closed for a number of hours but a forensic examination of the scene did not take place. The road reopened at approximately 11pm.
