CLAREMORRIS Musical Society is ready to step out in the limelight again. They will present the hugely entertaining ‘Hello, Dolly!’, in Claremorris Town Hall over four nights next week, from Wednesday, January 24 to Saturday, January 27 at 8pm nightly.
This is the 12th annual production from the award-winning Claremorris Musical Society that has made such huge strides after just over a decade since their debut.
There has been a great buzz to the rehearsals in recent months as this romantic comedy musical has been embraced with such exuberance by the cast.
Set in Yonkers, New York, in the late 19th century, Jerry Herman’s energetic ‘Hello, Dolly!’ is a musical filled with energy,  charisma and heart.
“‘Hello, Dolly!’ is boisterous and charming from start to finish and will leave you dying to join in the fun ‘before the parade passes by. It is filled with good humour, comedy capers and, of course, affairs of the heart! It truly is an exhilarating show and patrons are in for some great entertainment in Claremorris Town Hall. This show is a real toe-tapper!,” says Production Manager June Allison Keane.
The principal roles will be played by Vivienne Lee (Dolly Levi), Séamas Cafferky (Horace Vandergelder), John Byrne (Cornelius Hackl) who received an AIMS award for Best Comedian in ‘Me and My Girl’ last year, Mary Dempsey (Irene Molloy), Barnaby Tucker (Nathan Mannion), Minnie Fay (Sharlene Ruane), Michael Goulding (Ambrose Kemper) and Aisling Costello (Ermengarde).
A number of the cast have received various AIMS nominations over the last ten years and Claremorris MS is delighted to have such tremendous talent on board for their annual shows.
The production team members are June Allison Keane (Production Manager), Deirdre Lee   (Musical Director) and Hazel McLynn, director and choreographer, and no effort has been spared by this dedicated trio in ensuring another top class presentation.
The show has a cast of over 40 performers on stage alongside a host of backstage and front of house assistants, set designers, costume specialists, sound and lighting technicians, and hair and make-up artists.
CMS has a big outreach to the local community and they would like to thank the many patrons and local businesses who so generously support them every year.
