Owner offering reward for information leading to machine’s recovery

GARDAÍ in Westport are this morning appealing for information after a brand new rockbreaker was stolen overnight from a location close to Newport.
The valuable machine is worth in the region of €4,500 and was stolen from the road side near Derrinumera, close to Newport.
Mayo County Council are carrying out roadworks at the location and the rockbreaker was attached to a mini-digger at the site. Workers noticed that the machine had been taken when they showed up for work this morning. The rockbreaker was taken some time between 4pm yesterday evening and 8am this morning.
The owner of the machine is willing to offer a reward for information leading to its recovery. Anyone with information is asked to contact Westport Garda Station on 098 25555. The machine in question is blue in colour and is made by the Topa company.
