Brothers sent forward for trial after Reek Sunday assault

Two Dublin brothers have been sent forward for trial on charges of assault causing harm to a male after an incident at the Croagh Patrick car park at Murrisk, Westport, Co Mayo, on Reek Sunday last year, July 31.
A third accused, who cannot be named because he is underage, has also been sent forward on the same charge.
Jason Stokes of 3, Oldcastle Park Crescent, Clondalkin, Dublin 22, and Patrick Stokes of 1, Oldcastle Park Crescent, Clondalkin, Dublin 22, and the younger person, were all served with the book of evidence in relation to the charges at Achill District Court this week.
Superintendent Aidan Foley, prosecuting, applied to Judge Denis McLoughlin to return the three for trial at Castlebar Circuit Criminal Court on June 19 next.
All three were granted legal aid by Judge McLoughlin, who heard that Jason and Patrick Stokes are unemployed while the younger person is in secondary school and his mother is unemployed.
