WESTPORT’s Harbour Mill has been voted Top Hotel for Families in Ireland by online reviewer, TripAdvisor. This is the second TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Award won by the high-quality apartment complex this year; in January it was ranked in 17th position in the ‘Top 25 Hotels in Ireland’ category.
The annual  Travellers’ Choice Award is based on the reviews  of millions of travellers.
Welcoming the accolade, Ms Collette Cave, the General Manager, said: “This award is a true testament to our hard-working and dedicated staff, who truly understand and value the importance of customer service.  It’s also a wonderful achievement for the town and people of Westport, who contribute so much to the customer experience.  Despite difficult economic conditions, The Harbour Mill continues to offer a quality product and excellent value for money for our guests.  We have worked hard over the years to establish The Harbour Mill as a trusted and recognisable quality brand in the Irish accommodation sector.  This year we celebrate our 15th year in business, so these awards are particularly special.”
Not a hotel in the traditional sense of the word, The Harbour Mill comprises 85 Fáilte Ireland approved self-catering apartments overlooking the picturesque harbour. Offering added extras such as a 24-hour Reception, Wine Bar, Kiddies’ Corner, babysitting service, free Wi-Fi, secure car parking, on-site sauna, steam room, Jacuzzi and complimentary access to Westport Leisure Park makes this a true destination of choice for the discerning holidaymaker.
Westport’s Plaza Hotel, run by the Corcoran family, was the only hotel in the county to achieve a top-ten award in the TripAdvisor Top 25 Hotels category, announced earlier this year. Its sister hotel, the Castlecourt which was recently awarded Four-Star status by Fáilte Ireland, made number 21.
