TWO new superintendents were welcomed to Mayo by Judge Mary Devins when they were both present at last week’s sitting of Castlebar District Court.
The two new superintendents, John J Keane and Colm Fox, were observers in the court before they formally take up their duties in the county. Supt Keane will be stationed in Castlebar while Supt Fox will be stationed in Swinford.
The appointments were approved by the cabinet along with the appointment of 30 other senior gardaí around the country. A third superintendent, Aiden Foley was also appointed to Mayo in the last month and will be stationed in Westport.
Judge Devins told the court that the two new appointees had previously served as Detective Inspectors in the Dublin area and she looked forward to working with them in the future.
Mr John Dillon-Leetch welcomed them on behalf of the Bar Association and they were also welcomed by the Court Service.
