Final Mayo tally shows Fine Gael landslide

Final tally results for General Election 2011 are in for Mayo. Percentage-wise, the results are Fine Gael, 65 percent; Fianna Fail, 16 percent; Sinn Fein, 6 percent; Labour, 5 percent; Green, 0.3 percent; Others, 7 percent.
The numbers fell like this: Dara Calleary (FF) 8,485; John Carey (Green) 273; Lisa Chambers (FF) 3,357; Loretta Clarke (Ind) 235; Rose Conway-Walsh (SF) 2,640; Jerry Cowley (Lab) 3,600; Martin Daly (Ind) 874; Sean Forkin (Ind) 53; Enda Kenny (FG) 17,423; Michael Kilcoyne (Ind) 3,997; Dermott McDonnell (Ind) 238; Michelle Mulherin (FG) 8,816; John O'Mahony (FG) 8,633; Michael Ring (FG) 13,175; Therese Ruane (SF) 2,131.
It seems certain that FG will take four seats, with Enda Kenny and Michael Ring elected on the first count. John O’Mahoney and Michelle Mulherin look set to take seats also, while the fifth seat is likely to go to Dara Calleary.
Voting turnout throughout the county was strong, averaging 70-75 percent. Dara Calleary TD described the turnout as 'phenomenal', and said he believes that one booth in Bofield, Ballina, could have seen 100 per cent.
