Corks were popping in celebration in Galway on January 3, when Cases Wine Warehouse was named the Best Wine Warehouse in Ireland in the annual Sunday Business Post Wine Awards.
Cases took the overall Wine Warehouse Award for its innovative value-added elements, which include wine tastings and a children’s play area, along with its strong selection of wines.
Cases was also recognised for its recently developed wine website cases.ie, which offers an extensive range of wines for online purchase nationwide, as well as updates about deals and Cases events, such as its food and wine nights and wine courses. The site is easy to navigate – allowing visitors to choose to shop by type (including the usual red, white and rosé, as well as organic, low-alcohol and dessert), region or grape.
Judged by renowned wine critic Tomas Clancy, these prestigious annual awards are recognised within the wine and spirit industry as the only independent wine awards in Ireland.
Commenting on the win, the owner of Cases Wine Warehouse, Peter Boland, said: “We are absolutely delighted with this award. We ended last year with a Bridgestone Award and it is a tremendous accolade for us to begin the new decade with recognition by one of Ireland’s top wine critics of the quality of the offering we are bringing to west of Ireland consumers.”
Mr Boland explained that Cases continually strives to innovate, expanding its range of wines so that it can offer its customers better choice and better value for money. “Last year saw us expanding our range of imported French wines and we have just started to import the Lauca range of Chilean wines directly, which has been getting a terrific response from our customers … 2010 will see us continue to offer something different and something better to our customers.”
Located on the Tuam Road in Galway, Cases Wine Warehouse is open to the public seven days a week. Its five staff members are trained to the highest standards and certified by the Wine and Spirit Education Trust. A bright airy space, it also sells a range of beers, soft drinks and waters, in addition to a selection of corporate gifts, hampers, wine books and wine accessories. It’s a true haven for wine lovers.
Customers of Cases Wine Warehouse include both trade and members of the public, and it offers free delivery of cases of wine to customers in Counties Galway, Mayo and Roscommon.
To celebrate being named Wine Warehouse of the Year, Cases is offering Mayo News readers the chance to win a case of wine worth €150, with free delivery.
