ARTS Anne Finegan to exhibit in Belmullet

Going Out
North Mayo on canvas

Mayo has provided inspiration for many an artist. The latest to attempt to capture its colourful, changing moods is Rossport-born Anne Finegan. Her new exhibition, titled ‘North Mayo’, will be launched in Áras Inis Gluaire, Belmullet, on Friday, May 14 at 7.30pm.
Anne, who now lives and works in Westport as an artist, holds a BA in Fine Art, and works in oil, acrylic and mixed media. The sea and landscape of North Mayo is ever-present in her paintings. Her pieces are all to do with the feeling and sense of place, rather than representational realism.
Her work is very often quiet and still, evoking a feeling of emptiness and silence. The aim is to capture the different moods of sea and land at different times and in different weathers.
The ‘North Mayo’ body of work represents different styles ranging from representational to abstract and semi-abstract. All are welcome to the launch.
