The Callino Quartet will perform Haydn’s ‘Seven Last Words of Our Saviour on the Cross, Opus 51’ in St Mary’s Cathedral, Tuam, Co Galway at 8pm on Wednesday, March 31.
Since forming over ten years ago, the quartet’s reputation has continued to grow. Over the decade, they have worked with a diverse range of performers, including the Vogler and Belcea String Quartets, double bassist Edgar Meyer, pianist Barry Douglas, soprano Patricia Rozario, pianist Oleg Malov, rock band Arcade Fire, jazz guitarist John Abercrombie and composers Gyorgy Kurtag, Edgar Meyer, Peteris Vasks, Franghiz Ali-Zadeh, Ian Wilson, Raymond Deane, Ronan Guilfoyle and Kimmo Hakola. Quite the list!
