Linenhall Arts Centre hosts Pilgrim St

Going Out

FUSING TRADITIONS  Pilgrim St fuse Americana and Irish trad for a rousing sound.

Pilgrim St will be bringing their much-loved brand of ‘innovative and melodic’ folk and trad music to the Linenhall Arts Centre in Castlebar this Friday, January 24, at 8pm.
Fusing elements of bluegrass, americana, old time country and folk music, and traditional Irish folk songs, the seven-piece band from Co Meath promises ‘a fantastic evening of music and song’ (The Independent) and a great night out. Their sound draws on the music of such luminaries as Hank Williams, Woody Guthrie, The Pogues and Bruce Springsteen’s Seeger Sessions, while their set includes covers and their own original songs.
Pilgrim St has graced the stages of Electric Picnic and Vicar St among many other venues throughout Ireland and in Europe. The band features Peadar Farrelly (guitar/vocals), Eugene Donegan (banjo/vocals), Eoin McDonnell (mandolin/vocals), Francis McGinn (double bass), Mark Lynch (dobro), Brendan Kelly (accordion/ vocals) and Cathal McQuaid (fiddle).

For tickets (€14/€16), call the Linenhall Arts Centre box office on 094 9023733 or visit www.thelinenhall.com.
