Inni-K to play in Castlebar this Thursday

Going Out

Dublin-based singer, multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Inni-K (Eithne Ní Chatháin) will play the Linenhall Theatre in Castlebar this Thursday evening at 8pm.
Inni-K has received consistent praise for her fresh style of indie-folk since her acclaimed 2015 album, ‘The King has Two Horse’s Ears’. Her eagerly-awaited second album, ‘The Hare and the Line’, released earlier this year, presents a rawer and more affecting collection of songs, showing a new-found musical maturity. Named by RTÉ as ‘one of ten fierce women defining Irish culture’, Inni-K’s music draws on her extensive background in folk and Irish traditional music, even as she ventures into new musical territories. Her music combines ethereal vocals with deft musicianship, evocative lyrics (bilingual at times), and a unique approach to song-writing. Having shared stages with musicians including Toumani Diabaté, Glen Hansard, Liam Ó Maonlaí, Jeff Ballard, Lisa Hannigan and many more, Inni-K is becoming a well-established presence in Irish music.
Earlier on Thursday morning at 11am, Inni-K and her band will perform a special fun-filled interactive show, where young audience members get to join in the music-making, singing and percussion, creating one big fun band! There’ll be parts to sing, rhythms to clap, and lots of activities in between - including perhaps even conducting the band.
