Frights with ‘In Fabric’

Going Out

NIGHTMARISH Marianne Jean-Baptiste stars in Peter Strickland’s unsettling ‘In Fabric’.

Linenhall Film Club is presenting director Peter Strickland’s ‘In Fabric’ for a special Halloween screening tonight (Tuesday), October 29, at 8pm.
A lonely divorcée named Sheila (Marianne Jean-Baptiste) visits a bewitching London department store and purchases an artery-red gown – a gown that, in time, will come to unleash a malevolent curse and unstoppable evil, threatening everyone who comes into its path.
From acclaimed horror director Peter Strickland (‘The Duke of Burgundy’, ‘Berberian Sound Studio’) comes a truly nightmarish film, at turns frightening, seductive and darkly humorous, it was dubbed ‘fabulous’ and ‘spooky’ by The Irish Times. Channeling voyeuristic fantasies of high fashion and bloodshed, ‘In Fabric’ is Strickland’s most twisted and brilliantly original vision yet. Do you dare?

Linenhall Film Club screens every second Tuesday. For full details about the Linenhall Film Club and its programme, call the Linenhall Arts Centre, Castlebar, on 094 9023733 or visit www.thelinenhall.com.
