Murrisk hosts Lobsterfest this weekend

If the thought of succulent Clew Bay lobster makes your mouth water, don’t miss Lobsterfest at The Tavern, Murrisk.
Running over the weekend July 12-14, it’s a gastronomic celebration of the king of shellfish. There’s a special lobster menu to add to the lobsters fresh from the tank which are always available at the award-winning pub. Throw in some live music each evening and a glass of something chilled and there’s no better place to be on a summer evening.
Lying between Croagh Patrick and the Wild Atlantic Way, The Tavern is one of the few gastropubs included in the Michelin Eating Out in Pubs Guide. Executive Chef Myles O’Brien is a long time member of the prestigious Euro-Toques European chef association and has used all his skill to create a delicious lobster menu for Lobsterfest.
“We’re so fortunate to have these amazing local ingredients to work with,” said Myles O’Brien, “Lobster from Clew Bay is fresh and packed full of flavour. It’s a wonderful shellfish to cook and we’ve created some lovely dishes to showcase it.”
On Friday night Kevin and Chris play the best traditional tunes and on Saturday, it’s the turn of Connie Cullen with a wide variety of easy-listening music. Lobsterfest kicks off at The Tavern, Murrisk, on Friday, July 12.
