Preview screening to take place in Ballina Arts Centre
Other Voices, the internationally renowned music festival and TV series that has been going strong in Dingle for 17 years, took up residence in Ballina for one glorious weekend on September 28 and 29 last. Other Voices Ballina celebrated music talent and creativity with high-profile concerts at St Michael’s Church, a local music trail and interactive workshops, along with two-day culture-and-creativity conference Ireland’s Edge and the wonderful Ballina Food Fleadh.
Other Voices’ acclaimed TV series – which runs for nine weeks and showcases the music performances that take place over the festival – will this year feature three episodes dedicated to Other Voices Ballina. These will air on RTÉ 2 on February 28, March 21 and April 11. The Other Voices Villagers’ special, which aired on December 30, was the first full-length programme to feature the Ballina festival.
Ballina Arts Centre will host a preview showing of one of the Other Voices Ballina episodes tomorrow evening (Wednesday), February 13, at 9pm. Places are limited, so booking is essential, please contact Ballina Arts Centre email@example.com or 096 73593. Seats will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
The local preview showing is a nice nod to the efforts of the local Ballina business, arts and tourism communities, which came together to help support the event – including Ballina Chamber of Commerce, Mayo North, St Michael’s Church, Ballina Municipal District, Moy Valley Resources, Ballina Arts Centre, The Jackie Clarke Collection, Ballina Presbyterian Church, Ballina Food Fleadh, Ballina Beverages, Hollister and a range Ballina hotels and pubs, as well as Mayo County Council, South Wind Blows, Intel Mayo.ie, Music Generation’s Core Youth Music Hub and Creative Ireland Mayo.
