Going Out

TRUE BLUES Maciek ‘Magic’ Zaworonek and Tom Portman.

The Gallery Wine & Tapas Bar in Westport’s Brewery Place is fast gaining a reputation not only as one of Ireland’s best wine bars, but also as one of the most intimate live music venues in the country. Established artists like Luan Parle and Davey Furey have already graced this boutique venue, along with guest appearances from the likes of Don Stiffe.
Known for hosting breakthrough acts like Orchid Collective and Emma Langford, The Gallery Westport is becoming a go-to venue for musicians on tour, attracting a host of international talent.
On Thursday, November 29*, harmonica player Maciek ‘Magic’ Zaworonek will join dobro player Tom Portman at The Gallery for a very special treat for blues fans. Melding a range of tunes from acts like harmonica legend Little Walter with the Delta guitar styles of the likes of Robert Johnson, this pair are promising a fantastic night of live music, from sensual ballads to foot-stomping blues and roots.

Admission, free; gig starts at 9pm. To reserve a place or table, call 083 109 1138 or visit www.thegallerywestport.com.
