New concert series breaks new ground

Westport Town Hall is launching a new series of concerts aimed at supporting and developing the creative endeavours of local writers, singers and musicians.
Devised and curated by Coda member Declan Askin, Novus​ is a new and unique opportunity for musicians and poets to perform original material in a series of concerts in Westport Town Hall Theatre. It takes place initially on Thursday, February 22, at 8pm and will continue over the coming months, based on its success.
Novus (Latin for ‘new’) is open to musicians and poets who wish to perform original material in front of an appreciative audience. Musicians can perform any genre of music both vocal and instrumental. Poets can perform either solo or accompanied by music, media etc.
The first session will see the following take to the stage: Billy Clarke, Clara Gardiner, Emily Higgins, Rosa Kinsella, Katie O’Connell, Luke Power, Tony Reidy, Rebecca Walsh and Vickers Vimy.
