Annmarie O’Riordan to join Pat Friel in Cushlough

To coincide with the launch of his latest album, ‘Moonlight In Mayo’, renowned button-accordion player Pat Friel from Westport will be joined by a number of friends for a once-off concert in Cushlough Community Centre on Friday, October 6, at 8.30pm.
Joining Pat for some tunes will be fellow local musicians Liam Grealish, John Ryan and Frank McCarrick, as well as Lenny Grimes, who recently released a new single entitled ‘A Piece Of My Heart’, which is receiving a lot of airplay on local radio stations around the country. Lenny is also an accomplished composer of such popular songs as ‘My Achill Island Home’ and ‘Lovely Westport’.
Also making an appearance on the night will be local musical duo Gary and Bridie O’Malley, storyteller Joe Carroll, and Westport-based traditional music group Abu.
The special guest will be the hugely popular ballad singer, Annmarie O’Riordan from Co Cork, who at the age of just 14 years recorded her first album, ‘Harmony Handed Down’. It proved to be hugely popular everywhere, and two years later she released her second much-anticipated CD entitled ‘Melody In Harmony’. which included two of her biggest hits, ‘Cooraclare’ and ‘The Story I Tell You Is True’.
In 2009, Annmarie was named the Nation’s Best Newcomer at the Irish Music Awards at the World Fleadh, and has since toured America and Europe. One of the highlights of her career when she was chosen to sing the National Anthem in Croke Parke at the GAA All-Ireland Football Championship in 2013. Annmarie continues to record and perform both at home and abroad.

Tickets for this special concert, which will be recorded for The Irish At Home And Abroad TV Show on Sky 212, are priced just €10.
