De Staic is back with Mad Craic

Going Out

WILD-EYED WIT Shrule-born comedian Aindrias de Staic.

An interesting mix of surrealism, observational wit and general craic will be on the menu in Matt Molloy’s Pub, Westport, when it hosts Mad Craic Comedy on Thursday, September 21.
Headlining on the night is celebrated Shrule comedian Aindrias de Staic, whose rich and rare style of fiddle playing is as unique to the west of Ireland as his storytelling, mad-cap antics and humor.
Aindrias has won countless awards and has made headlines in the theatre internationally for his highly acclaimed one man shows including ‘Around The World on 80 Quid’ and ‘The Man From Moogaga’. Malcolm Jack from The Scotman called him ‘A wild-eyed shock of Celtic unpredictability’, adding: ‘the man’s got talent and humour in abundance’.
Joining him on the night will be Darach McGarrigle, an award-winning and IFTA-nominated writer and comedian, and a regular at all the big Dublin comedy clubs.
Duffy Connors and John O’Hare will also be performing. The pair recently had a 16-night packed-out run with ‘Splitting The Bill’ at the Edinburgh Fringe.
The gig will be MC’d by Gavin McCready, who also performed with ‘Splitting The Bill’ in Scotland. He was also a finalist in this year’s Show Me The Funny and Forbidden Fruit Talent Search.
Ticket deals for four or more people are €5 per person online; early bird tickets are €6.50 online and €8 at the door. Tickets can be purchased on eventbrite.ie under Mad Craic Comedy: Westport. Doors open at 9.15pm.
