This weekend, from Friday, September 30, until October 2, Achill will host to one of the last festivals of the summer – the Pure Magic Battle for the Lake. Nestled in Keel Lake on Achill Island, Pure Magic is offering a weekend of ‘summer fun, spraoi, music and family fun’.
The music line-up includes not only indie rockers HamsandwicH, but also Hot Sprockets, Scoops, Beef Supreme, Backroad Smoker’s Club, Smoke, Graham Sweeney, Roisin El Sherif, Gerry Hodges, Katie Gallagher, Grainne Fahy, Saoirse Casey, elly d, Keith Plunkett, Davie Furey, Vagabonds and Thieves, Maria Kelly, The Swiftie Experience, DJ Manu and DJ Onix and Friends.
World-class kite surfing performances will be taking place at the lake, while a healing and relaxation tent will house local holistic therapists offering a range of treatments for festival goers.
Musicians and entertainers will perform across three stages, and there’s even a firework display on the cards. The DJs will keep the music going until the wee hours.
The kiddies’ area will boast a host activities and performances for little ones, including a bouncy castle and fun fair rides. On both the Saturday and Sunday there will be special DJ Wil Softly Kids Disco sessions, while the Keel Sheep Show is also happening next door. With special guests, kids’ activities, food stalls and a such a huge line-up of music, it looks like Keel will be hopping this weekend.
