THE Glasshouse will hold a bumper sale of glass panels, bowls and jewellery in Michael Gannon’s photography shop at the top of Bridge St, Westport, from 7pm to 9.30pm on Saturday, December 5 next. Linda Mulloy’s stained- and fused-glass workshop, the Glasshouse, usually operates on a commission only basis, so these pieces are all unique and not available anywhere else.
Linda Mulloy, has been running The Glasshouse in Westport for the last 15 years. Her stained-glass windows, doors and fused-glass hanging panels will be familiar to many who frequent the town – the most prominent being the multiple glass panels in Madden’s Bar on James Street, the result of a collaboration with another accomplished Westport artist, Pamela Gray.
There are many other pieces around if you know where to look – in Matt Molloy's back bar, in the Quay Cottage and in the Oratory in Mayo General Hospital. Many private houses around the country also contain pieces by Linda.
The sale in Gannon’s gives shoppers with a discerning eye the perfect opportunity to purchase a unique gift for Christmas – while enjoying a glass of wine and a slice of festive cheer! Linda, who also teaches glass panel making from her workshop, will also be hosting a jewellery-making day on the Saturday before Christmas. For more details, you can contact the artist herself on 087 7981123.
